The main points of Blackjack Card dealing
In blackjack card dealing looks like this:
After all the players have made their bets, the dealer starts dealing the cards. He usually passes the players twice, dealing two cards to each player including himself. As a rule for a shoe game, all the cards are dealt face up, except for the dealer cards, where one is dealt face down (the hole card).
In a hand-held game, all the players receive their cards face down.
There are some specific rules of blackjack card dealing as for hand-held casino blackjack:
- Players may touch the cards with one hand only.
- Players must keep the cards over the table.
- All the cards dealt as a result of the chosen option are to be left on the table. Players must not add them to the cards they have in their hands.
After the cards have been dealt, the players in turn start playing their hands by telling the dealer which option they choose. The options can be found in the next section. Dealer plays his hand last, and after that he collects or pays out the bets.
As an exception, in blackjack card dealing in some European casinos, the dealer receives only one card face up and deals himself the second card only after all the players had played their hands. This rule is called a European No Hole Card rule. This blackjack card dealing rule might change the standard player actions only if dealer collects all the bets in the event of his Blackjack. Moreover, some casinos refund the split and double bets in case the dealer has a Blackjack; however this is not a common case and can not be classified as a European No Hole Card rule.
